Hello and Welcome to Tatsikiisaapo'p Middle School. I am currently in my 33rd year of teaching with KBE and still loving every minute of it. Over the years I have taught almost all subject areas with PE and Language Arts being my favorites. I love to teach and to help students develop that same passion for books that I have. I love coaching and working with the athletes of our school as well. Have a great year!!!

Oki! I'm Karla Colenutt and this is my very first position as a certified teacher! I have 13 years under my belt as an EA working with children on the Autism Spectrum, with severe behavior issues, and one deaf student. I've raised 4 of my own biological kids, 2 foster kids and had at minimum 2 other kids living in my home due to difficulties in their own home environment. That being said, I've learned that ALL kids desire one basic thing from the adults in their lives, love. I teach all the Grade 7 students math and offer Photography as an option. It's such a privilege to get to know the students from the Blood Tribe and be a part of the community and culture.

I have been privileged to work at TMS since February 2017 teaching Grade 8 science and social studies. I love the school, the staff, and the students. Before TMS I taught English at an alternative high school in the States, and I have a HUGE love of reading and literacy.  I am married with four (biological) children, a parrot, two guinea pigs, a cat, and a bunch of dogs. It feels like Calgary Zoo, South Division.  Fish live in my classroom during the school year and at home (adding to the zoo) during the summer.  In my spare time I like to eat, garden, cook, read, eat, watch TV, read/try new recipes, knit, eat, crochet, read, and eat. My favourite book (for middle school) is OK for Now, by Gary D. Schmidt. A runner-up middle school favourite would be A Wrinkle in Time by Madeline L’Engle. I can’t narrow down to a favourite book of all time.

Oki Nitaniko “KB Singh”, I currently teach at TMS and have been with KBE since 2000. My teaching assignments are Grade 8 Math and Computers. I have taught at Kainai High School for 10 years and Sapoyi for 3 years. I have really enjoyed teaching on the Blood Reserve. I believe that every student has the right and potential to learn and grow in an accepting, safe, and positive environment. One of my goals in the years is to become better Blackfoot speaker, if not fluent. Teaching in an environment where Blackfoot is spoken and encouraged on a consistent basis will certainly help in this area. “Where there’s a will, there’s a way”. Mokakit Iiyka’ Kimaat I look forward to the school year and wish everyone a prosperous and fulfilling school year.

Oki! I am teaching all grades P.E. this year. I absolutely love my position here at TMS. I hope to help all of you to become more confident and skilled in physical activity. My favourite movie is "Remember The Titans" and I have seen it way too many times. Covid-19 has really messed up our athletics and Phys Ed programs this year and I pray that soon we can get things back to normal. Lastly, the best piece of advice I have for anyone is this: Its ok to fail. As long as you tried your hardest, learn from it, and then try again.
